Object Compare
How to: Compare two files as hexadecimal |
When viewing the differences between two files, you can view the differences as
plain text or as hexadecimal values. Hex view profiles each sequence of
eight (8) characters as hex digits.
Note: For large files, comparing in hex view increases the comparison time.
To compare two files using hexadecimal view:
- Open Object Compare, and perform a file comparison as described in How to: Compare Two Files.
- Select View -> Hexadecimal from the main menu.
-
The File Viewer windows switch to hex view, with each line profiling 8 sequences
of characters as hex digits.
- To switch back to standard text view, select View -> Text from
the main menu.
