Object Compare
How To: Create a Comparison Batch File |
Comparison batch
files are useful to automate the comparisons of existing Workspaces.
A comparison command requires the use of a config file describing the Workspace
to compare.
The command and config file can be generated using the Object Compare GUI Tools
menu.
To create a Comparison batch file:
- In the graphical user interface, open the Workspace of interest.
- Select the Tools->Create Workspace Comparison Command File menu.
Note this menu option is only enabled if a Workspace is open.
- In the Save Command As dialog, select a location and file name for the batch file,
and choose Save.
In the above example, if the file name used for the batch file was Example.Bat
then a config file called Example.Config would
also be created
in the nominated location.
You can customize the batch file parameters by editing the .Bat file in any text
editor. The generated .Config file should not be modified as it contains the search
criteria the Object Compare search engine uses to locate objects.
